Level I

At the conclusion of Level I, beginning band students shall be able to:

A) Participate in solo, like instrument and large group performances

B) Participate with the band in at least two public performances during school time.

C) Participate with the band in at least two public performances outside of school time.

D) Participate in one parade as a marching band member.

E) Attend live and/or video taped performances by professional or college level players
and/or composers.

Level II

At the conclusion of Level II, middle school band students shall be able to:

A) Participate in solo, like instrument and large group performances

B) Participate with the band in at least four public performances that may include:
Winter/Spring Concerts
State/ Regional Concert Band Festivals

D) Participate in three or more parades as a marching band member.
Easthamptons Annual Memorial Day Parade

E) Attend live and/or video taped performances by professional or college level players
and/or composers.

Level III

At the conclusion of Level III, proficient high school band students shall be able to:

A) Participate in solo, like instrument and large group performances

B) Participate with the band in at least four public performances per semester that may include:
Winter/Spring Concerts
State/ Regional Concert Band and/or Jazz Ensemble Festivals

D) Participate in three or more parades as a marching band member.

E) Attend live and/or video taped performances by professional or college level players
and/or composers.

Level IV

At the conclusion of Level IV, advanced high school band students shall be able participate in at least five of the following opportunities.

A) Participate in solo, like instrument and large group performances

B) Participate with the band in at least four public performances per semester that may include:
Winter/Spring Concerts
State/ Regional Concert Band and/or Jazz Ensemble Festivals

C) Participate in eight or more parades as a marching band member.

D) Attend live and/or video taped performances by professional or college level players
and/or composers.

E) Perform with a local community ensemble such as the UMASS Youth Wind Ensemble, Holyoke Community Symphony or other local group.

F) Perform or assist with the schools annual musical production.

G) Perform with, assist or direct students in a middle school band concert.

H) Teach private or small group lessons to younger students within the community.
